Project Team

The Technical University - Sofia, as a base organization, two partner universities - Ruse University "Angel Kanchev" - Ruse and University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" - Burgas, as well as scientists from the base organization from the University of Žilina - Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications", Slovakia.

The head of the project is Prof. Svetla Stoilova from the Faculty of Transport of TU-Sofia.

The team is composed of 18 participants, of which 3 are doctoral students and 2 are post-doctoral students, including young scientists, and 3 scientists from abroad and 2 are students. In general, 44% of the project team are young scientists, post-doctoral students, doctoral students and students.

The team from TU - Sofia includes scientists and students from the Faculty of Transport - Department of "Railway Engineering" and Department of "Engines, Automotive Technology and Transport", as well as two scientists and one doctoral student from the University of Žilina, Slovakia.

The team from the partner organization - University of Rousse "Angel Kanchev" is composed of scientists and doctoral students from the Faculty of Transport, department "Transport".

In the team of the partner organization - University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" are attended by scientists and post-doctoral students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Department of Engineering and Technologies in Transport.

The participation of the three Universities in a union of specialists, as well as the attraction of scientists from abroad for individual participation in the project, is dictated by the need to unite a wider circle of scientists to conduct fundamental scientific research. In this way, it will be possible to combine the knowledge of individual scientists and apply the systematic approach to solving specific tasks. Each collective has a specific area of ​​scientific research in which it leads, and this knowledge and experience can be fully utilized within the whole collective.

The team from the three universities and the scientists from the University of Žilina-Slovakia have experience in their partnership in developing scientific research projects and conducting scientific research. Most of the team members participated in a joint team from the three universities on a project financed by the Scientific Research Fund under a competition for funding fundamental scientific research - 2018 (No. КП-06-Н27/12 dated 11.12.2018. "Modeling and development of a complex system for the selection of transport technology in a transport network"), successfully completed and evaluated with a very good rating, related to the development of a complex system for the selection of transport technology in a transport network.

The integration of specialists for the work on the project makes it possible to develop a scientific network on the problems of efficient transport technologies.

Team from the Technical University of Sofia

The team from TU-Sofia is composed of teachers and students from the Faculty of Transport - Department of "Railway Technology" and Department of "Engines, Automotive Technology and Transport" and has competence in the field of modeling of transport flows, optimization and simulation methods, energy research efficiency in transport, ecological transport and study of harmful emissions.

Two professors and one doctoral student from the University of Žilina, Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications, Slovakia, are involved in the work of the project to the team from TU-Sofia. Their participation will contribute to popularizing the scientific research conducted by the Technical University-Sofia, financed by the "Scientific Research" Fund, among the international academic community.

Team from the Angel Kanchev University of Ruse

The team from the partner organization Angel Kanchev University of Ruse is composed of professors and doctoral students from the Faculty of Transport, Department "Transport" and have experience in carrying out empirical research related to fuel consumption, research on the environmental parameters of means of transport, the organization of managing transport flows through intersections, and the application of computer and communication systems for energy efficiency control.
